"After reviewing our Policy Declarations and the Policy Booklet, we called Cheryl to confirm that the comprehensive coverage deductible is waived for windshield crack repair. Although we have $500 comprehensive deductible, the Declarations state, "We have specified the deductible will not apply to the repair of windshield glass," and the Policy Booklet states, "No deductible applies to the repair of windshield glass." Cheryl insisted that we were "taking it out of context" and "misinterpreting" the policy. She offered one specific explanation: that the Limit and Loss Settlement section we were referencing pertains to arbitration. Contrary to Cheryl's interpretation, the Limit and Loss Settlement section defines the coverage limits for claims and the method of loss settlement - not arbitration.
After speaking with Cheryl, we called Windshield Repair and Glass Claims. The claims representative confirmed that the deductible is indeed waived for the repair of a windshield crack."
